I know I haven't blogged in a little while, but i had to step away from the computer for a bit and become a socially active and responsible person... That's right I started working. To fill you in a bit, a daycare that I used to work at called me. They are a home based daycare, and the other girl that I worked with had left. Instead of going through the interview process and trying to find someone (who would not only be a new employee, but also someone that would be left alone in there house for 30-40 minutes twice a day) they took a chance and called me. Long story short I took the job, and now work full time. I have little time to come home and take a shower and sleep in between work and planning for work, let alone open up the laptop. So here I sit, apologetic about not blogging as much as I should, but at the same time happy about the way life has treated me in these last few weeks.
So my life is now full of dirty diapers, runny noses, scraped knees, and endless amounts of children pointing their fingers to the palm of their hand and shouting " More!!" ( Pointing a finger to the palm of the opposite hand is signing the word more). My tank is on empty at this point, but there is nothing a good nights rest can't fix..... a dump truck full of vitamin C would probably help too! I'm so grateful that these parents are allowing me to help these children grow up, and guide them through this part of their lives.
So here's to life. May you enjoy it, live it, love it, and most importantly go through it doing things that make you utterly... Euphorically.... obnoxiously happy. I know I am!

It's My Birthday!!!
So I woke up this morning to a tonne of Facebook and text messages wishing me a happy birthday, even Google wished me a happy birthday! When I first woke up my brain went into totally "It's my birthday" mode. In my head I was singing happy birthday to myself and asking "do you feel any older than you did yesterday?" but before mentally I could answer the question, my body answered. All of my joints are stiff and a tad swollen because of the rain. The irony of this whole situation is even though in age I turned 22, in the physical sense I'm like 60. BUT, I will not let this stop me from celebrating my birthday!! So wish me luck as I hobble through this wet rainy day in search of birthday fun!!

Cake batter Fudge and Birthday Cake Truffles
I found this recipe on pinterest, and thought "Hey I have some left over boxes of cake mix. Why not try it!" it all started out pretty good. It is a pretty simple recipe, and something I thought would be impossible to mess up. However after having the directions for this as well as directions for some cookies, I ended up mixing up my measurement, and just kind of had to make due with the concoction of ingredients I had. In the end it turned out, and my mix up of ingredients resulted in a somewhat fudge like texture. Because I hadn't gotten everything exactly right, I decided to roll into balls, dip in chocolate, and rename this cake batter fudge to birthday cake truffles.
For this recipe you will need:
1 box of cake mix
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter (softened, not melted)
sprinkles for decoration
Step 1: Mix your cake mix and powdered sugar in a bowl.
Step 2: Add butter. I would advise cutting into smaller chunks for a more even distribution when melting. DO NOT MIX BUTTER INTO DRY INGREDIENTS!!!
Step 3: This is where I messed up. I added 1/4 cup of milk to the mixture. If you are trying to achieve a cake batter fudge, and not birthday cake truffles, skip this step!!
Step 4: Microwave for 2 minutes, making sure that the butter melts into your dry ingredients.
Step 5: Remove bowl from microwave and mix all of your ingredients together.
Step 6: Place fudge mix into a container and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour.
Step 7: You can either cut into small squares and serve as fudge, or roll into small balls, and dip into melted chocolate for truffles.
Step 8: Decorate!!!
Step 9: ENJOY!!!

Another day, another awkward moment...
Today I woke up in a great mood. So much has happened over the past week that I can't help but have a permanent smile on my face. I was recently rehired by Small Symphonies Daycare and Music school for full time work, Easter was great, they are making a Finding Nemo sequel called "Finding dory", and life in general just seems to be great.
As I do every morning I excitedly opened the front door and checked the mail box for the many free samples and coupons I get. To my surprise there was a hand written envelope addressed to me. I opened the envelope with such excitement to see what it could be, and that's when SMACK the smile disappeared for just a moment. It as a birthday card. I quickly checked the calendar, and sure enough it said April. So many thoughts were running through my mind. Had I really lost track of time that I couldn't remember what month is was? Would I have forgotten that my birthday was in a few days?
As much of a shock as it was that I had forgotten the month and my own birthday, my smile was soon enough plastered back on my face. A new(ish) job, new movie coming out, AND my birthday! I must be one lucky girl to feel this great :)
Awkward moment of the day:
That moment when you open up a card that says happy birthday, and the first thought that crosses your mind is " is my birthday really in a few days".
