Cake batter Fudge and Birthday Cake Truffles

I found this recipe on pinterest, and thought "Hey I have some left over boxes of cake mix. Why not try it!" it all started out pretty good. It is a pretty simple recipe, and something I thought would be impossible to mess up. However after having the directions for this as well as directions for some cookies, I ended up mixing up my measurement, and just kind of had to make due with the concoction of ingredients I had. In the end it turned out, and my mix up of ingredients resulted in a somewhat fudge like texture. Because I hadn't gotten everything exactly right, I decided to roll into balls, dip in chocolate, and rename this cake batter fudge to birthday cake truffles.

For this recipe you will need:

1 box of cake mix
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter (softened, not melted)
sprinkles for decoration

Step 1: Mix your cake mix and powdered sugar in a bowl.

Step 2: Add butter. I would advise cutting into smaller chunks for a more even distribution when melting. DO NOT MIX BUTTER INTO DRY INGREDIENTS!!!

Step 3: This is where I messed up. I added 1/4 cup of milk to the mixture. If you are trying to achieve a cake batter fudge, and not birthday cake truffles, skip this step!!

Step 4: Microwave for 2 minutes, making sure that the butter melts into your dry ingredients.

Step 5: Remove bowl from microwave and mix all of your ingredients together.

Step 6: Place fudge mix into a container and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour.

Step 7: You can either cut into small squares and serve as fudge, or roll into small balls, and dip into melted chocolate for truffles.

Step 8: Decorate!!!

Step 9: ENJOY!!!
